I know some of you may class yourself as introverts.
And while there is nothing particularly wrong with that, I always say be very careful with labels…
Don’t put yourself in a box.
But, even if you prefer your me time over social events (hey, even I do too sometimes), let’s zoom out and take a look at the world today and it’s current state of affairs.
We’re living in a loneliness pandemic.
People addicted to video games with no need to leave the house.
They can satisfy their sexual urges with p0rn and 0nly fans.
(I highly recommend the book “Man Disconnected by Philip Zimbardo & Nikita D. Coulombe. It dives deep into this topic with shocking statistical data.)
They can get food delivered right to their door.
Sh*t, you can get everything you need delivered right to your door these days.
We’re becoming more and more secluded.
We have no desire to even leave the house, because we don’t need too.
Relationships are suffering.
Family’s are suffering.
Hell, we’re all suffering in this new digital age of convenience.
And then we scroll Instagram.
And see the highlight reel of everyone’s lives, thinking they’ve got it so good.
And wondering where you went so wrong.
Forgetting that it’s just a highlight reel.
Social media is faking connection.
Faking business.
Faking relationships.
Faking self-mastery.
We are all so lost.
But what’s the answer?
The internet isn’t going anywhere.
Despite its negatives, it has had an abundance of positivity on mankind.
So we need to leverage it in a better manner.
Reducing screentime.
Increasing human connection and relationships.
Bringing back control to people’s lives.
Not letting it just pass them by.
We only get one shot at this, and far too many of us are living it wrong.
I want to help.
I’ve been cooking up something which I believe can strike the right balance.
I want to bring the human connection back in this digital age.
Us humans thrive of it.
We aren’t meant to be alone.
I’ll release it this November.
Stay tuned.
Much love,
Shawn “Sheshn” Heshmatpour
