At the time I am writing this email, the election is three days away.
(You are probably reading this the day before the election)
Now, I’m not going to sit here and tell you it is a complete waste of time.
It isn’t.
But if you have been scrolling Twitter (X), or any of the social media’s recently, it would have been impossible to miss the war that is going on between Democrats and Republicans.
It’s got to a point where you can’t even be friends with the other side.
Where rather than saying how each side would improve the country, they comment how the other side will bring it down.
It’s painful to see.
I’ve seen people lose friendships over this.
And it’s all some people focus on.
Their entire lives is politics, debating and arguing.
It must be so tiresome.
Everyone is so distracted by the election, they aren’t doing anything with their own lives.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t voice your opinion, or cast your vote.
But seriously, the country would be a much better place, if these people put the same amount of energy into working on themselves.
Not expecting handouts from a government to magically make your life better.
Imagine if everyone did that?
They worked on themselves.
They worked on their health, their relationships, their income.
The effect would be phenomenal.
But no, we must cast aside blue and red as a war zone, and the other side seen as evil.
Yes, evil.
No matter the result, if you are in America, your life is going to continue.
So would you rather wallow in pity at the result, or be happy your side won; and then what?
More arguing for 5 years until the next election?
It’s time to make the most of your life.
And argue with less political trolls online.
I challenge you to focus on yourself.
Hit the gym, make the bag, do some reading, start journaling (this will help you).
Make yourself 1% better than yesterday.
Lift others up around you.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
Much love,
Shawn “Sheshn” Heshmatpour
